About the Rehab Dr Vorobiev

In 1992 Dr. Nikolay Vorobiev, psychiatrist and psychotherapist, started treating patients suffering from drug and alcohol addictions. He quickly came to realization that the existing protocols of treating addictions yielded minimal results and, on top of that, most positive outcomes were not sustainable. Dr. Vorobiev then concluded that developing psychological and physiological aversion to the drug is the key to success in the struggle against the addiction.  Thus began his quest for a new methodology of treating addictions resulting in the first of the series of victories.

Dr. Vorobiev’s method employs a unique combination of approaches to treatment, including informational psychotherapy, use of specialized medical equipment, holistic and traditional medicine, etc.  Medications and treatment plans are always chosen on an individual basis to make sure that the patient retains his/her ability to sleep comfortably and that the overall frame of mind remains positive.

Treatment of a patient is carried out is such a manner, which leads to a gradual change in the patient’s attitude towards and perception of the drug:

  • The first stage includes gradual decrease in the patient’s interest in the drug, weakening of the memories and thoughts about the drug.
  • The second stage is marked by creating indifference to (rather than desire for) the drug.  If, for example, the patient takes part in a conversation about the substance, s/he feels no draw to the drug. Moreover, even the sight of the drug appears to have no effect on the patient.
  • The third stage entails replacing indifference with disgust and repulsion. Thoughts of the drug are actively rejected as they cause aversion in the patient.

The news about the successes of the treatment spread quickly. The number of patients seeking treatment grew, and, with this drastic increase in demand, the clinic grew and  a new team of healthcare professionals was created.  Doctors were selected with the utmost care and received a special training in the use of the new methodology.  One of the primary goals of this team was and continues to be constant self-improvement and refinement of strategies of effective treatment.

The rehab centers of Dr. Vorobyov are open to patients suffering from a wide variety of addictions, including dependence on drugs, alcohol, gambling, benzodiazepines and barbiturates.  Every potential patient undergoes a complete evaluation for any underlying mental disorders and/or any accompanying conditions.  In addition to addiction, such conditions as neuroses, depression and even stuttering are now successfully treated at the clinics.

People from all-over the world come to Dr. Vorobiev’s clinics.  There are currently 6 centers open in the following Russian cities: Moscow, Roston-on-Don, Krasnodar, Pyatigorsk and Georgievsk. There is also one clinic in Belgrade, Serbia. The latter has been accepting and successfully treating patients mostly from Europe for the past two years.

A new clinic near Tijuana, Mexico is scheduled to open in the Spring of this year and most likely will receive patients from such countries as the USA, Canada and Mexico.  And yet another Central American treatment center will be opened soon in El Salvador in order to accommodate demand for adequate and successful treatment of addictions in South and Central America.
